Wendy Harris, MS, MFT Candidate

Wendy graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and is now pursuing licensure as an LMFT candidate. She is passionate about working with families and individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Wendy has over 30 years experience in the Education field and also has a Master of Science in Learning Disabilities from East Central University in Ada, OK. She has numerous years of experience working with child behavior problems and educational challenges.

Wendy uses an integrative approach to therapy and prefers to focus on solutions and strengths to help clients move forward. She also believes emotions play an important role in individual mental health and functioning as well as within family functioning. We as individuals often suppress our emotional experiences in life and these same patterns happen with our romantic partners, our children, parents, etc. and influence the development of problems. Wendy sees how important it is for both children and adults to develop a realization of their own emotions and the ability to cope with these intense emotions in a healthy way, as she believes this is an important factor in the development of a healthy outlook on one’s self and the ability to connect with others. She believes her biggest therapeutic strengths to be her own use of authenticity and use of open communication in the therapy room. Wendy establishes goals in therapy in a collaborative approach with her clients, meeting families where they are to work towards their own desires for change and uses her therapeutic approach to assist her in this process.

She is currently accepting private pay clients at a rate of $60/session.
