Canaan R. Crane, MS, LMFT

AAMFT Approved Supervisor and Clinical Member

Click for Information Canaan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Family Psychology from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1997. He continued on at OBU and earned his Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2000. 

He is currently working on a PhD in Family Science from Oklahoma State University. Canaan is Licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist by the State of Oklahoma. He is also a State Approved Supervisor for LMFT Licensure.

Canaan is currently serving a term as Treasurer for the Oklahoma Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. He has served this board in numerous roles, including Student/Associate Representative, Newsletter Editor, Board Member and Conference Chair.

Canaan is very involved in his church. He attends University Baptist Church in Shawnee and is active in Sunday School and church life. He leads worship on Sunday evenings, serves as a Deacon, and directs the Youth Praise Band.

Canaan’s clinical practice consists mostly of OBU students, faculty and staff. He is available to provide supervision for licensure and to provide therapy services to individuals, couples and families.


Rilda J. Smith, MS, LMFT

Click for InformationRilda graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Management in May of 1983. She completed her Master of Science in Marriage in Family Therapy at OBU in May of 2003. Rilda is Licensed by the State of Oklahoma as a Marriage and Family Therapist.

Her clinical practice includes both individuals and families seeking assistance with a wide variety of clinical issues. Her areas of expertise include working with adolescents and families. As an MK she is especially interested in cultural transitions and third-culture concerns.

Rilda is very active in her church. She attends First Baptist Church in Shawnee. She is a member of the sanctuary choir and serves on numerous committees. Rilda is also an active volunteer builder, committee chairperson and current Board Member with Habitat for Humanity in Shawnee.

Rilda is available for daytime appointments and is willing to work with clients to accept both EAP and Insurance payment sources.


Elaine Brandt, MS

Elaine graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelors of Science in 1998. She completed her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at OBU in May of 2004. Elaine is currently under supervision for Licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist.

Her clinical practice includes both individuals and families seeking assistance with a wide variety of clinical issues. Her areas of expertise include working with children, adolescents and families. She is especially interested in couples counseling and working with adolescents struggling with self-harming behaviors.

Elaine is an active member at New Hope Baptist Church of Tecumseh, OK. She actively supports United Way and Relay for Life Cancer fundraising in the community.

Elaine is available for evening appointments on select days.
